On September the 11th 2004, artist Ingrid Windram set out on what was to be arguably the best field trip into the Kimberley she has done to date, aboard the True North, in luxury and in great company, with fabulous crew and fellow adventurers.
This trip, awe-inspiring, with a changing landscape that had us overwhelmed, day after day for the next 14 days, as we traveled from Broome to Wyndham.
The first two days saw Montgomery Reef, the Petrified Warriors at Langi, and the land mark Raft Point.
As the trip unfolded, each day added new visual sensations, leaving us to believe that it could not get any better, but it did, each and every day.
Some of the many highlights were:
The experience of an ancient landscape complete with Rock Art set in the wilderness.
The Berkeley, Hunter, King George, Prince Regent and Mitchell rivers.
Eagle Falls
Quail Creek
On March 19 th 2005 Ingrid will be aboard the New True North, on its maiden voyage, to re-live the experience of the magnificent Kimberley Coast, but this time to witness its awesome power, as the falls will be at their best, at the end of the wet season, and King George Falls, Kings Cascades, and a myriad of other waterfalls will make sure that this too is at least equal to, and perhaps even better than her first trip aboard True North 1.
